COMPOSITION ROOFING

Composite shingles are made of asphalt and laminated fiberglass. They give the look of real wood shakes while providing better protection and ventilation for a longer life span.

Composite shingles are very similar to other traditional shingles. They come in a large selection of styles and colors that mimic traditional roofing materials. Composite roof shingles are also extremely durable and long lasting compared to traditional asphalt or shake roofing materials.

Composition roofing allows for greater protection from the elements. The various parts or composite of such roofing not only give it strength, and durability, but also allow for different design choices.

  • Laminate shingles have become the most common choice in composition roofing. They are a more recent variant and are superior to the basic 3-Tab. Laminates have a second tabbed layer fused to a base shingle, effectively doubling the materials thickness. They have a strong resemblance to wood shake and are available in a wide range of colors.
  • Premium shingles are sometimes referred to as Grand Sequoia, Presidential, or Grand Canyons. They are a heavier Laminate and represent the absolute top of the line in Composition. They are thicker, heavier and physically larger than standard Laminates. Premium shingles often incorporate extra features like moss retardants and modified asphalts.

LOW-PITCH AND FLAT ROOFS

Flat roof repair and re-roofing is a different process from any other type of roof. As the rain doesn't run down the side of a flat roof, these have to have a much better seal covering the entire roof. Laying down a layer of hot tar is a superb way to create the seal needed to keep you dry during the rainy season.

Fields® roofing and waterproofing products are designed for maximum performance. Their RubrMastic™ weatherproofing product is superb for sealing nail hole leaks, flashing leaks, and sealing cracks.

  • PVC membrane is a roof membrane composed of only one layer of material, polyvinyl chloride. PVC roofs are specially designed to withstand ponding water- PVC membrane is welded together with hot air (no open flame) to eliminate all seams so moisture can not pass through.
  • Torchdown also referred to as “single-ply” roofing, torchdown roofing is a flame activated bitumen-backed membrane installed over a fiberglass base sheet. Torchdown is available in smooth and granulated.
